Transparency International

PIT Solutions has developed a web portal for Transparency International, the global civil society organization which is leading the fight against corruption in countries around the world.

Overview

The Country profiles will display approximately 50 data items. Some of the 50 data items will be pulled from SharePoint databases that have already been populated.  These items have been tagged with metadata from a formal site taxonomy.  Some of the data will be pulled in real time from external databases on the Web using some sort of API.   Web visitors will select a country from a drop-down list and see a summary page of data and a list of documents, some contact information from the local chapter, perhaps a map of the country, and a few more things. There will be many links to external pages.

The project in a nutshell is to do the programming behind the scenes that will make this page work.  TI- Country Profiles was built as a separate ASP.net website but will get data from the SharePoint CMS. Using SharePoint API’s we fetch data from the SharePoint CMS and display it in the main site. Later this site was integrated to main internet site inside SharePoint as a WSP publishing site.
