Overview

Sales Management Tool is a web application developed in Symfony, a PHP-based framework. The tool manages a company’s leads database (prospective customers), their sales executives and sends out messages to the sales executives on new leads.

Key Challenges

The key challenge involved in this project was to incorporate a key feature to import contacts from files or any web-based service (like Gmail). Besides, shortage of designers was another difficulty faced in this project.

Client Gain/Feedback

Though there was a delay in completion when compared to the actual schedule, the project is now available in its first version. However, no client feedback is available as this was being developed as an internal project.

The next version of sales management tool is yet to be released.

New Features, Enhancements

Version 2 of Sales management tool has been released with enhanced “Newsletter Management Module” and “System Statistics” modules. There are 5 newsletter templates which appear as radio buttons. On clicking Preview button, a preview of the newsletter is seen which the user can save or retrieve to the “Add” or “Edit” page. On adding a newsletter, its preview is sent to a valid email address in the test email field.

“System Statistics” gives us the details of the site access like the OS, browser used, geographic location date and the total site visits count. A date-wise search functionality is also provided to this page.
