About Eltecna

Eltecna is a website that was developed for Eltecna AG, a company having partnerships with leading suppliers of equipment and components. Eltecna works with modern planning and project management techniques and is always up to date on the latest technologies and trends in modern engineering.

Overview

The main objective of this project was to integrate their existing website with a CMS so that the option to enter the site contents dynamically would be possible. It was important to retain the look and feel while integrating with a CMS.

A team of three - a developer, tester and a designer - were allotted to this project, and the CMS of choice was Joomla!.

Key Challenges

Maintaining the exact look and feel as that of the original was an important issue. The fly-out menu functionality also had to be incorporated. Moreover, the site design had to match various browsers like IE6, IE7, Firefox, and Safari.

Solutions

The team initially carried out a systematic study of the existing site and its features - design as well as functionality. With their sincere efforts, they could completely learn to implement new functionalities like the fly-out menu and successfully develop the site fully in Joomla!.
