Overview

iHub is a Customer Relationship Management software developed to meet the requirements of both customers as well as business centers/companies. It has a planet-satellite architecture. The iHub planet system manages all the satellites or MSBs and the global service providers. iHub Satellites offers features according to user types and have a strong user level access control. It offers services like email designs, sms service, etc. for business partners, and for normal customers the options to post jobs under different service areas.

Key Challenges

Integrating an automatic mechanism for updating all the available MSB servers was a key challenge faced in the project. Moreover we had to create PDFs / prints using the standard templates integrated in the system. Automatic updating of files in all available MSB servers, since all MSBs are using the same source code, was another challenging requirement. The feature to manage all the satellites or MSBs, and the global service providers from the planet demanded a complete restructuring of the database.

Solutions

The existing challenges were resolved by using rsync, an open source utility that provides fast incremental file transfer.

Client Gain/Feedback

The project, being under its user-acceptance-testing phase, is awaiting an opinion from the client. However, they are extremely impressed with our progress so far and we have established a strong relationship with them as is reflected in more projects from them.
