Journal Publishing System

The project JPS aims to create a web service in .NET, which will enable the client, a Switzerland-based research organization, to provide an ecosystem of knowledge environments for scholars, institutions, service providers, suppliers and the general public. The primary intention of the web service will be to provide a platform for the online publishing of open access journals supported by the Research Foundation, an international not-for-profit foundation based in Switzerland.

The web service should enable the entire life-cycle of journal publishing starting from the creation of an editorial board, inviting authors to submit articles relevant to the journal, evaluation of articles by competent editors, and finally enabling the online and hardcopy publishing of the articles in the journals. The analytics part of the web service should aid in the selection process of the articles for hardcopy publishing via relevance reports. Also the web service aims to provide a platform where registered users of the system can create networks, carry out their day-to-day project activities, showcase their talents and labs, and have an own customized view of the service.

This web service should also provide a platform where Institutions, Universities and Companies can advertise and showcase their potential. It aims to act as a meeting place where future relationships could be explored and established. Also there are sections devoted to the general public and kids, news publications, lectures, seminars and conferences, blogs and forums.

The system should provide full management facility for all aspects and functions related to the administration of the web service. The accounting system should enable the users of the system to make and receive payments via credit cards, checks, bank transfers and invoices. This system should enable the management to keep track of the entire money flow in the web service.
